A CCTV drain survey uses a waterproof camera fed through your drainage system to inspect the inside of the pipework in real time. It’s a non-invasive way to identify blockages, cracks, collapsed sections, root ingress, misaligned joints and general wear, without lifting a single slab.
Our engineers record the full survey and provide it back to you as a digital report, so you have clear evidence of what was found, where, and professional advice on any repair and maintenance needed.
Standard house surveys and mortgage valuations don’t typically include a proper inspection of the drainage system, most surveyors don’t carry the CCTV equipment or specialist knowledge to check it. That’s a gap, because drainage problems are expensive and easy to miss until you already own the property.
A homebuyers drainage survey fills that gap. We inspect the full drain run, check for structural issues, blockages, root ingress and misconnections, and give you a written report with footage you can share with your solicitor, surveyor or the seller.
We’d recommend this as an add-on alongside your standard survey, particularly for older properties, rural properties on private drainage/septic systems, or where you already have any reason for concern.
Most domestic surveys take between 30 minutes and a couple of hours depending on the size and complexity of the system. We’ll confirm timings when we scope the job.
It helps if someone can grant access to the property and any relevant manholes or inspection chambers, but you don’t need to stay for the whole survey.
