If your property isn’t connected to mains drainage, your septic tank needs emptying regularly to keep working properly and stay within the law.
We provide a fast, reliable emptying service for domestic, commercial and agricultural sites, with ad-hoc and scheduled options available.
We predominantly cover Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire & Herefordshire.
We provide both one-off emptying for a tank that needs attention now, and scheduled emptying so you’re not left tracking when the next one’s due yourself.
Scheduled visits work particularly well for commercial and agricultural sites, holiday parks, and any property where missing an empty causes real disruption.
We also offer a premium same day service for emergencies.
A septic tank separates solids from wastewater, letting liquid drain away while solids and scum settle at the bottom. Over time those solids build up and need removing , if they’re not, the tank loses capacity, wastewater can back up, and solids can pass through into the drainage field or soakaway and damage it.
How often your tank needs emptying depends on how it’s used and where you are. In England, the Environment Agency requires sludge to be removed before the tank reaches maximum capacity, and recommends emptying at least once a year or in line with the manufacturer’s instructions. In Wales, Natural Resources Wales advises emptying every 12 to 24 months, and your system must be registered with NRW. In both, the waste must be taken away by a registered waste carrier. We recommend once a year as a rule of thumb, and more often for busier households and commercial sites.
A sewage treatment plant (sometimes called a package treatment plant) goes a step further than a septic tank, actively treating wastewater before it’s discharged, usually to a watercourse or soakaway, rather than just separating solids from liquid.
Treatment plants generally need emptying less often than septic tanks, but they still build up sludge that needs removing periodically to keep the treatment process working properly and avoid the plant discharging poorly treated effluent.
If you’re not sure when your system was last emptied, or don’t have a record of it, we can advise once we’ve taken a look.
We offer service plans for collection of liquid waste and maintenance of septic tanks so you can worry about other things. We can tailor these packages to suit your requirements and needs, and then it’s a set monthly fee.
We empty septic tanks, cesspits and sewage treatment plants for:

Less often than a septic tank in most cases, typically once a year, though this varies by make, model and usage. Check your manufacturer’s guidance, or ask us if you’re not sure.
A septic tank separates solids from liquid and relies on the ground (via a soakaway or drainage field) to further treat the liquid. A treatment plant actively treats the wastewater itself, typically to a higher standard, before it’s discharged.
In Wales, NRW asks you to keep maintenance records for five years, as they or a future buyer may ask to see them. We provide documentation for every empty, so your records are covered on either side of the border.
