Regular inspection, servicing and maintenance keeps your septic tank or sewage treatment plant working properly, protects your manufacturer’s warranty, and keeps you compliant with current Environment Agency & Natural Resources Wales regulations.
We provide scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repair, for domestic, commercial and agricultural systems across Mid and North Wales, Shropshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire and the Midlands. We also carry out repairs and upgrades of existing systems.
A septic tank has no mechanical parts, so servicing and maintenance is more straightforward than for a treatment plant, but it still matters.
A service typically includes checking the tank’s structural condition, inlet and outlet pipework, and the level of sludge and scum inside, alongside confirming the drainage field or soakaway is working properly and not showing signs of failure.
Left unchecked, a septic tank that’s silently overdue for attention can lead to a soakaway failure that’s far more expensive to fix than the tank itself.
A sewage treatment plant has mechanical and electrical parts (aerators, pumps, blowers and filters) that actively treat wastewater, and these need regular servicing and maintenance to keep working correctly.
Most manufacturers require an annual service to keep the plant’s warranty valid, and many treatment plants are covered by a service contract for exactly this reason.
A treatment plant service typically includes checking and cleaning mechanical components, testing electrical parts, checking effluent quality, and confirming the system is discharging correctly and within the terms of the site’s General Binding Rules compliance or consent to discharge.
If your having septic tank problems or you sewage system is failing or falling behind on compliance, replacement isn’t always the only option. In many cases we can repair, upgrade or rebuild an existing treatment plant or septic tank rather than replace it outright, refurbishing worn or failing components and getting the system back up and running properly, without the cost of a full replacement.
This can be a significantly more cost-effective route than replacement, and worth exploring before committing to a new system, particularly for treatment plants where it’s often the mechanical parts rather than the tank itself that have failed.

Rather than tracking servicing dates yourself, we offer scheduled service plans so your system is serviced on time, every time. Particularly useful for maintaining manufacturer warranty cover on treatment plants, and for commercial and agricultural sites where a system failure causes real disruption.
We offer plans for the servicing and maintenance of sewage treatment plants and septic tanks, so you can worry about other things. We can tailor these packages to suit your requirements and needs, and then it’s a set monthly fee.
Not necessarily. In many cases we can repair, upgrade or rebuild the existing system rather than replace it, which is usually more cost-effective. Worth having us assess it before assuming a full replacement is needed.
Annually is standard practice, alongside emptying as needed based on sludge levels.
Most manufacturers recommend at least one service per year, and require it to keep the warranty valid — check your specific unit’s manual, or ask us if you’re not sure.
Servicing checks and maintains the system itself — structural condition, pipework, and for treatment plants, the mechanical and electrical parts. Emptying removes the sludge that builds up inside the tank. Both are needed, generally on different schedules; see our Septic Tank & Sewage Treatment Plant Emptying page for that side of things.
Keeping up with servicing is usually what protects the warranty, not the other way around. Most manufacturers require proof of regular servicing to keep cover valid. We can provide documentation for this.
